"Come, learn the lesson of the rod:
The treasure that we have in God.
He is not poor nor much enticed
Who loses everything but Christ."

Grace and peace to you, my friends.
Our family's "lease" on Daniel William II ran out at 3 years old. We cannot quarrel with the Sovereign God for taking to Himself what He owns. We are saddened for our loss but rejoice that Daniel is rejoicing in Heaven. He cannot return to us be we can go to Him...and we will...Our redemption draws nigh.
"Clearly, accomplishment in life cannot be measured in terms of years alone. It often happens that those that die young have accomplished more than others who live to old age. Even infants, who sometimes have been with their parents only a 'short time' may leave profound influences that change the entire course of the life of the family. And undoubtedly, from the Divine viewpoint, the specific purpose for which they were sent into the world was accomplished. It is our right neither to take life prematurely, nor to insist on it's extension beyond the mark that God has set for it." (Loraine Boettner)
How thrilling that Daniel's 3 years in our family has left a life changing impact on our lives and the lives of many others. Our "silent little preacher" continues to preach on...that is how we can make sense out of his death. We must "walk by faith" not by sight..and our eyes of faith must be fixed on God to make sense out of Daniel's early appointment with death. Christ is the Victor over death. We SHALL see Daniel again. What God did and is doing with this young life is phenominal. We press on, "for here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city which is to come." RSV
This is a day filled with memories and thankfulness to God for the 3 years we had Daniel in our lives. The next time we see him, we will see Jesus!! Can't wait!

Dan and Melissa, I hurt for you and with you today even while I know that you don't sorrow as those who have no hope. Pain, but not cruel pain. Agony, but not without eucatastrophe. Fire, but refining fire with the gentle eye of God watching lest you be destoyed by it. Though He chose not to spare your son, you have hope and purpose and comfort and joy in knowing that He didn't spare His own Son either. The pain and agony gives evidence to the fact that nothing can separate you from His love. Christ is all!
praying for you today, friends.
