What hope is there?

What hope is there for a world that is filled with so much tyranny and oppression if there is not an ultimate judge?

What hope is there for a world that is filled with so much tyranny and oppression if there is an ultimate judge?

Our hope is found in the Righteous Judge who was judged in our place (Romans 3:23-26; Galatians 3:10-14; 2 Corinthians 5:21).

The Psalmist had this hope in Psalm 96, the hymn of worldwide worship, as I call it. His hope was sung this way,

"Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice; let the sea roar, and all it contains; let the field exult, and all that is in it. Then all the trees of the forest will sing for joy before the Lord, for HE IS COMING, FOR HE IS COMING TO JUDGE THE EARTH. He will judge the world in righteousness and the peoples in His faithfulness" (vv. 11-13).

This is a warning to oppressors and a hope for the oppressed!

This is of GREAT encouragement to me...and something that I have been bringing to the foremost part of my mind during these seemingly dishearting days.

I speak in reference to Terri Schiavo's court ordered death. It is obvious that we have a judicial system run amuck...full of individuals who are ruling, legislating, and judging unrighteously.

We have an awesome Savior who is perfectly just, holy, and biased toward perfect righteousness. Sinless...with perfect discernment of the heart...who will one day rule righteously, and judge those who have allowed evil to be called good. (Doing so without imperfect man-made systems and checks and balances of power...)

The more I meditate on who Christ is, and what He has accomplished...and who I am in Him, the more I realize that when evil is wrought against me or other innocents in Christ, it isn't against us personally. It is against our Savior.

There is no need or point in allowing it to anger, frustrate, or upset me. Our Christ, who suffered injustly...and to the degree that His own Father forsook Him...understands my plight and those brothers and sisters who suffer as well...and one day He will judge righteously the works of men and nations...perfectly...for He is worthy to judge us! "Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing."

"And every created thing which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all things in them, I heard saying, 'To Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, be blessing and honor and glory and dominion forever and ever.'"

Revelation 5: 12 & 13

Dan...I cannot tell you how encouraging this blog site is at times. Thank you for ministering in our lives...and reminding us of the Gospel. I am grateful dear brother in Christ!

i'm thankful for the fact that my Judge is also my advocating Priest (Hebrews 8:1-13) and that His fulfilling the covenant is making the old one obsolete.

"My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus blood and righteousness. I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly lean on Jesus' name."

"On Christ the Solid Rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand."

"My Great Physician heals the sick, the lost He came to save. For me, His precious blood He shed; For me, His life He gave.

My thoughts echo Ang's. Praise God that He does not judge His children based on our deeds, but on Christ's merit.
