the concept of "quiet time"
I've been thinking about the concept of "quiet time" lately and discussing it the past week with my Principles of Bible Study students. Here are a few resources that I think you'll find helpful as you think about and engage in this practice.
Freedom from Quiet Time Guilt - This is a very thought-provoking article by Greg Johnson of the St. Louis Center for Christian Study.A Basic Quiet Time Plan - This is a Bible study/Scripture meditation plan that I adapted from Tim Keller's Preaching the Gospel in a Post-Modern World.
Psalm 62 Meditation - I wrote this example of the above quiet time plan. It's even more basic.

Hey there Mr.Cruver. While we (my husband Josh Cannon and I) were at BBC your family's ministry greatly impacted us. Melissa was a facilitator of an acountablility group I and some of my good friends (Bethany Gibbson, Tori Shirk) were in. We also fell in love with your concept of Gospel Centeredness. I know my husband is too modest to ever do this but, I wanted to let you know what an impact you have had on Him with his preaching. I know it is from Christ and the gifts he has given you both, but I wanted to tell you. Josh has had several opportunities to preach since we moved down here to Alabama, He has based his sermons on the concept of Gospel Centeredness. It is effecting people all the way down here in Alabama! :) I was wondering if you would like to hear his sermon. Our church recorded it wheh he spoke in September. I would have to email it to you so drop me an email so I can have your address to send it. We are also in a difficult situation here regarding an internship we were supposed to be starting in May. Josh wanted to ask your advice about that as well! Looking forward to hearing from you.
